Don’t be an April fool! The weather has been…weird… out there lately. Make your plans this weekend to include visiting our warm and welcoming indoor arts & crafts market. ARTE offers an array of products handmade by our talented artisans. From décor and design ideas, clothing and accessories, to yummy goodies to fill your tummy- ARTE has it all under one roof. Times Square Center has been a generous host to us for quite a few years now and is easy to find off the Sheikh Zayed Road. You can find us there on two weekends this month: Friday 10th and Friday 24th April. Don’t forget: ARTE also has a regular monthly market in Al Hamra Mall in Ras Al Khaimah. View the location maps for both malls here.
Our monthly poster:
We are just so happy when we see Eva’s smiling face on our poster, that we used it again this month. Please share the smile around and invite your friends to join in this weekend!

Spring is here!
Look at these gorgeous floral pictures created by Esra Olgun during her workshop held at ARTE on Friday 27th March.
Using the age-old Turkish technique of marbling called Ebru Art, the process involves paper decorating with treated water, special brushes and paints to create a marbled effect. The word Ebru is derived from the meaning of the Persian word “ebri”: looking like clouds, as during the paint application process, cloud-like shapes are formed on the water.
Thanks to Esra for sharing the process :
The paint is made to float on the surface of the water thickened by ox gall. The paint is then manipulated into shapes and designs which take a lot of training and experience on the part of the artist. Paper is then placed on top of the water and paint to transfer the design. The image is perfected with the use of pins, needles and combs.
This classical Ottoman art was recognised in 2010 by UNESCO as a Turkish Heritage Art.
You can find Esra at various ARTE markets throughout the year to experience this beautiful technique.
Special thanks to Alex at Green Moment Photography for the images.
