Are you itching to create something magical with paper? Then visit ‘Magic Fingers’ at ARTE on the 27th of June. In the workshop held by Manisha Khandelwal, you will learn to design anything you want out of paper. It could be a card, a picture frame or a flower vase, using paper punches and quilling ribbons. Surprise yourself!
Manisha says, “This workshop aims to introduce the customer to the joy of creating with small pieces of paper, playing with colours and shapes and just having fun doing so. I intend to share paper crafting techniques at the workshop. At a basic level, cards, bookmarks and gift tags are the easiest to make. At an advanced level, this craft can be used to create beautiful framed artworks, gift wrapping and mixed media art.”
For Manisha, the best part of working with workshop participants is the way their faces light up when they see they have the power to give life to paper. All they have to do is master the simple techniques of cutting, embossing and colouring to change the ‘personality’ of paper. She says, “This is my mission: Serving art. It feels good to help people bring out the hidden artists in them. What I do is only an initiation into the world of paper crafts, and then its the Artist’s own journey. It is very fulfilling indeed.”
